The Freeport Players will hold sketch and music auditions for their December variety show on Oct. 12, 15 and 16. All ages are welcome to audition, and everyone gets a role.

Auditions start at 6 p.m. in the Freeport High School music rooms (back entrance), 20 Holbrook St., all three days. Sunday is for music and sketch auditions, Wednesday is music only, and Thursday is sketches only.

The show’s sketch director is Alicia Ouellette Belmore and music director is Mitch Thomas.
The Freeport Players will provide script pages for sketch auditions, which are held in groups. For music, bring a score for the music director to play as you sing or bring an instrument to accompany yourself if you want to do that in the show. Time period for the show is 1920–1970s — bring something from that period. Let the Players know if you want to do sound effects, and you be auditioned during sketch slots.

The show, presented Dec. 5-7 at Freeport Performing Arts Center, is live onstage, set in a “radio studio” in the mid-20th century and includes music with a live band, sketch comedy, wacky product ads and jingles, and hilarious sound effects. Tickets on sale soon.
