Dolores Ann Shaw

SACO – Dolores Ann Shaw “Del” passed on Thursday Oct. 2, 2025 at The Inn at Atlantic Heights.

Del was born on March 23, 1933 in Meade, Kan., population 1,552. She grew up on a wheat and cattle farm assisting with chores from the age of 6. After high school she moved to Denver, Colo. and worked in banking.

In 1956, she met her future husband, Bob, who was in the Air Force. After a brief courtship they drove all night across the border to New Mexico, after breakfast at a local bar they went to the town hall and were married for 61 years. The military moved them to California and Washington. Upon discharge from the Air Force, they drove across the country to Maine where she would spend her life.

Del worked at numerous jobs while being a support to Bob as he grew his insurance business, Paquin & Carroll. Together they raised their three children Bob, Gail and Michael who meant the world to her, and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. It was all about having fun, loads of love and making every day feel special! She was a super mom, and a fantastic grandmother. She was loved by many for her kindness and fun loving ways.

Del is survived by her children Gail Shaw Godbout and husband Dan, Michael Shaw and wife Vicky, Bob Shaw and wife Kelly; and grandsons Benjamin and Cameron and his wife Sage.

Del was predeceased by her parents Elias and Elizabeth Friesen; her husband, Bob; and her brothers Howard and Ronald.

The family would like to thank everyone at The Inn at Atlantic Heights who have been so kind and attentive to Del, as well as the team from Compassus.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home. Please visit www,jonesrichandbarnes.com to leave condolences for the Shaw family and share a memory of Del.
