Theresa (Gamache) Bouchard
BRUNSWICK – Theresa Gamache Bouchard, 97, of Bowdoin died on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.
She was born in Providence, R.I., on May 24, 1928, the daughter of Octave J. and Marie Anna Roberg Lebel Gamache. Theresa attended schools in East Providence, R.I. and did her senior year at Brunswick High School, graduating in 1946.
On June 21, 1947, she married J. Remi Bouchard. In her early years she worked as a secretary at Brunswick High School and Brunswick Coal and Lumber. After starting her family she went to beautician school, then opened her own hair salon in the family home that she ran for over 30 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, J. Remi Bouchard; three sisters, Evelyn Klaus, Doloris Elliot and Lorraine Tetreault; a grandson, Kane Jackson O’Connor; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Walker Bouchard.
Terry is survived by her seven children, Daniel Bouchard of Scarborough, Joline Bouchard O’Connor and her husband Joel of Bowdon, Kenny Bouchard and his wife Pierette of Bowdoin, Susan Bouchard Menard and her husband Marc of Durham, Janice Bouchard Staples and her husband Danny of Bowdoin, Andrew Bouchard and his wife Lisa of Bowdoinham and Sandy Bouchard Macpherson and her husband Gordon of Sanford, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Paton and Marcy Brenner and a brother, Raymond Gamache.
Terry was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family. She loved to host family and friends, especially around the holidays. Terry was a member of All Saints Parish for many years. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress who enjoyed making dolls clothes that she donated to the St. Charles Christmas fair. She will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Church, Brunswick. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
