Maine Craft Weekend is an annual statewide tour of craft artist studios and events, spread over two days, this Saturday and Sunday.
With everything from a ceramics sale in Berwick to a blacksmith demonstration in Cherryfield, there’s bound to be an activity for everyone. Here are more details about what’s happening.
Who is participating?
Artist studios, galleries, nonprofit organizations, craft-based schools and even craft breweries are hosting events and activities. Locations are listed on a map on the Maine Crafts Association website.
What types of craft are we talking?
Crafts being celebrated run the gamut from basketry, ceramics and textiles to book binding, furniture making and distilling.
What types of events are happening?
There are open studios, workshop tours, demonstrations, exhibitions, kids events, studio sales, art walks, festivals and more. Find a searchable list of events here.
How do I attend?
You can find a location or event that suits your interests or plan a route to try to visit as many participating locations as possible. For a concentration of coordinated events, visit one of this year’s “Featured Cities.” They are Bangor, Biddeford, Ellsworth and Freeport.
