Constance A. Boutet
SACO – Constance A. (Auger) Boutet, 94, of Saco, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, in Saco.
Constance was born on Oct. 10, 1930, in Biddeford, a daughter of Eugene and Mary (Savage) Auger.
She was educated at Thornton Academy and graduated in 1948. While attending high school, Constance met and fell in love with Robert Boutet. They later got married on June 30, 1951, and raised five children together.
After high school, Constance worked as a clerk at Saco Lowell Shops before dedicating herself to raising her family as a homemaker. While staying at home, her love for learning never faltered and she decided that she wanted to pursue teaching. She went back to school and in 1974 she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Constance’s kindness and patience as an English teacher was very valuable to her many students including those who were learning English as their second language.
Constance was known to read whenever the opportunity arose and would attend yard sales in the warmer months, as well as sew in her spare time. One of her favorite activities was volunteering in her community. For many years, she would spend her time helping at Dyer Library and Saco Museum. Her presence was a welcomed source of inspiration to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet her. She will truly be missed by many.
Constance was predeceased by her husband: Robert Boutet, her two brothers: Frank Auger and Joseph Auger (Susie), and her sister: Frances Auger.
Constance is survived by her three sons: Jon Boutet (Dawn) and children Chad (Amy) and Darin (Luis), Marc Boutet (Nanci) and their children Matt (Shonee) and Dustin (Heather), and Peter Boutet (Michelle) and their children Lauren (Michael) and Bradley, her two daughters: Judy Tilley (Michael) and their children Audrey and Hayden, and Mary McHugh (Ted) and their children Libby and Claire, her brother Frank’s wife: Felicienne “Speed” Auger. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Elliana, Juliette, Ada, Mason, Amelia, Ruby, Beckett, Marie-Michelle, and Emersyn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 4th, at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
