Cheverus scored two quick goals in the second half and beat previously undefeated Thornton Academy 2-0 in a Class A South girls soccer match Friday in Portland.
Rachel LaSalle scored in the 73rd minute and Olivia Vigue made it 2-0 two minutes later as Cheverus improved to 4-2-1. Thornton is 5-1.
GREELY 3, YORK 0: The Rangers (4-3) scored three times in the second half to beat the Wildcats (1-5) in York.
Sami Santerre, Lydia Berthiaume and Amelia Savoy also scored for Greely, while Lili Pierce had two assists.
Ava Hickey made 14 saves for York.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 7, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Ellie Seely scored four goals to lead the Panthers (6-1) past the Seagulls (1-5) in Yarmouth.
Alicia Fontana added a goal and three assists. Katie Berard and Lola Smith both scored their first varsity goals.
TRAIP ACADEMY 3, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Lucy Gingras, Avery Bouffard and Jacqueline Diallo scored to lift the Rangers (4-2) past the Mustangs (5-2) in Kittery.
Riley Smith and Hayli Paradis scored for Monmouth.
Rose Dembele made 11 saves for Traip, while Lily Carlton had 20 saves for Monmouth.
GORHAM 3, BONNY EAGLE 1: The Rams (4-2) scored three second-half goals to beat the Scots (2-4-1) in Gorham.
Tatum Lauziere scored in the first half to give Bonny Eagle the lead. Adrianna Russo scored twice and Logan Doughty had a goal and an assist for Gorham.
Keona Ingram had four saves for Bonny Eagle and Sawyer VonderHaar made four saves for Gorham.
MARSHWOOD 1, WESTBROOK 1: Madison Poitras scored the for the Hawks (2-4-2) and Ava Bolden scored for the Blue Blazes (3-2-1) as the teams played to a tie in Westbrook.
Greta Krantz had eight saves for Westbrook.
YARMOUTH 3, LAKE REGION 0: Keira Cowans, Lilah Pernal and Abby Noble scored as the Clippers (7-1) beat the Lakers (2-4) in Naples.
Miah Jacobs and Cowans each had an assist.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, WINDHAM 2: Addie Lamey, Vanessa Dyer and Shyla McVeigh scored to lift the Trojans (4-4) past the Eagles (4-3) in Windham.
Peyton Archibald had a goal and an assist for Windham. Abby Trainor also scored and Lexi Beach added an assist.
SACOPEE VALLEY 2, TELSTAR 0: Mirielle Bridges and Cass Madgey scored as the Hawks (1-5) beat the Rebels (0-7) in Bethel.
Madelyn Cooley made eight saves for Telstar, while Lily Kick had two saves for Sacopee Valley.
LEWISTON 1, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 1: Valerie Potvin scored on a corner, tipping in a shot by Lauren Cote, as the Blue Devils (6-2) beat the Patriots (4-3) in Lewiston.
Lila Theriault gave Lewiston the lead four minutes into the third quarter with an assist from Charlotte Crowley. Kasey Kebels scored with three minutes left in the third with an assist from Lydia Trytek for Gray-New Gloucester/NYA.
Shelby Valley made 10 saves for Lewiston and Mallory Kulas had five saves for the Patriots.
KENNEBUNK 2, PORTLAND/DEERING 0: Lydia Beaupre and Charlotte Johnson scored as the Rams (1-5-1) shut out Portland/Deering (0-7) in Kennebunk.
Emma Walsh had 25 saves for Portland/Deering.
SANFORD 11, MASSABESIC 0: Hailey Payeur scored five goals, Reese Beaudoin had three goals and three assists, and the Spartans (5-1-1) routed the Mustangs (0-7) in Sanford.
Zoey McCann added a goal and two assists, Ella Tederous and Olivia Kezar each finished with a goal and an assist, and Paige Sevigny had three assists.
Elizabeth Boudreau made 23 saves for Massabesic.
BOYS SOCCER
BUCKFIELD 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: The Bucks (4-1-1) scored twice in the first half and the Hawks (0-5-2) answered in the second half as the teams played to a tie in Buckfield.
Krosby Harvey scored both goals for Buckfield. Cooper Berkowitz and Michael Del Mar scored for Sacopee Valley.
Neil Haylock stopped five shots for Buckfield and Tanner Hale had eight saves for Sacopee Valley.
WESTBROOK 9, MASSABESIC 0: Ithiel Mulumba scored three goals, Mo Ahmed and Mechac Boyilimpo each added two, and the Blue Blazes (4-2) handled the Mustangs (0-7) in Westbrook.
Kevin Pedro and Abubukr Al-Robaee also scored, Pedro and Mulumba each had two assists and Isaac Crabtree made seven saves for Westbrook.
Nate Azalea stopped nine shots for the Mustangs.
GREELY 2, YORK 0: Connor Skillin scored twice late in the second half, and the Rangers (5-0) shut out the Wildcats (5-2) in Cumberland.
Skillin converted a penalty kick with nine minutes left and finished a through ball by Hunter Caiazzo in the final minute.
VOLLEYBALL
FALMOUTH 3, GREELY 2: Olive Clark led the Navigators (4-3) with 17 kills as they overcame a comeback bid by the Rangers (5-2) in a 25-21, 25-20, 17-25, 20-25, 15-12 victory at Cumberland.
Falmouth also got 17 assists from Abby Shaw and 14 assists from Maddie Herrick.
Anabelle Talley recorded 19 kills, three aces, two digs and four assists for Greely. Maddie Croteau and Ryley Bonner-Combes each finished finished with eight kills. Croteau also had three aces and 15 assists, and Bonner-Combes collected four aces and five blocks.
