Patricia (Cousens) Hansen

HARPSWELL – “Getting old is no fun – but I’ve had a lot of fun getting old” is a recent quote from Patricia Cousens Hansen, who died on Sept. 17, 2025, at the age of 88 ½.

Pat was born in Portland on April 9, 1937, to Russell Cousens and Annie Parker Cousens. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1955 and worked for Stultz Electric before going to S.D. Warren Co. where she worked as a secretary in the electrical department and later as a customer rep in customer services.

In 1965, she married George W. Hansen, and they purchased a piece of land in Harpswell where they cleared the land and built their beloved “retirement” home on the ocean.

Pat had been an active member of the Westbrook Republican city Committee, acting as secretary for 10 years, the National Secretary’s Association, and a life-time member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She was a skilled knitter and cross-stitcher; she never forgot a friend’s birthday or anniversary and, in later years, enjoyed traveling out west in her sister’s RV.

She was predeceased by her parents; and by husband, George, who died in 2011.

She is survived by sister, Donna and her husband Norman Conley; and by niece, Patricia (Mrs. Douglas) Kelleher of Salem Mass. and nephew, Marc Conley (Tricia) of Waldwick, N.J., nephews Barry, Brian and Eric Hansen; great-nieces Rachel Kelleher, Avery Kelleher, and Rowan Conley and great-nephew, Aidan Conley.

At Pat’s request graveside services will be private. To share condolences and memories of Pat with the family please go to http://www.dolbyblaissegee.com.
