SCARBOROUGH – Arnold Bowman, 90, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2025 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was born in St. Albans, the son of Helen and George Bowman.

Arnold was a truck driver most of his life. He began his truck driving career working for O’Donnell’s Express in Houlton and later for Sanborn’s Express in Scarborough. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #340. “Reddy” retired from trucking after 30 years on the road.

During his retirement years he worked with the mowing crew at Purpoodock Golf Club in Cape Elizabeth. He enjoyed spending time with his family, doing puzzles and had a great love for cats and dogs.

He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Bowman; his parents, George and Helen Bowman; and his brother, Errol Bowman.

He is survived by two daughters, Julie Lemieux of Old Orchard Beach, Lisa Plummer and her husband Michael of Naples; four grandchildren, Jennifer Cowan of Quincy, Mass., Jeffrey Cowan and his wife Alicia of Old Orchard Beach, Danielle Bushey and her husband Andrew of Gorham, and Wyatt Plummer of Naples; four great-grandchildren; his beloved cat, Frankie; and his sister, Lori Raymond of Texas.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the kind and compassionate care he received from the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

Per Arnold’s wishes, here will be no funeral service and the burial will be private.
