Sydney Quimby scored the eventual winning goal on a penalty corner in the fourth quarter as Gorham earned a 2-1 win over Thornton Academy in a Class A South field hockey game Friday in Gorham.
The Rams improved to 2-4 with the win, while the Trojans fell to 2-4.
Annie Collier scored in the first quarter, and Eva Wandell made five saves for Gorham.
Cora Bolduc broke up Wandell’s shutout bid with 30 seconds remaining, assisted by Olivia Lamey. Sophia Augier stopped seven shots for Thornton.
WAYNFLETE 6, TELSTAR 0: Nicole Adler notched a hat trick, Ava Vander Schaaff added a goal and two assists, and the Flyers (3-1) rolled past the Rebels (0-4) in Portland.
Alex Leopold and Claudine Butera were the other goal scorers.
Waynflete goalie Mya Clark made four saves. Telstar’s Madelyn Cooley stopped 12 shots.
NOBLE 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Mia Smith set up Alyssa Plante, then scored with an assist from Anna Dupuis as the Knights (5-1) shut out the Scots (2-3) in North Berwick.
Lauren Merchant stopped five shots for the win, while Bonny Eagle’s Abigail Mercier made seven saves.
SOUTH PORTLAND/WESTBROOK 1, KENNEBUNK 0: Lily Dorrington scored off a penalty corner in the third quarter, lifting South Portland/Westbrook (2-3) to a win over the Rams (0-4-1) in South Portland.
SCARBOROUGH 4, MASSABESIC 0: Lily Howes and Sabrina Ocampo each scored two goals and Avery Ingersoll earned her sixth shutout for the Red Storm (5-0-1) in a win over the Mustangs (0-5) at Waterboro.
FREEPORT 5, YORK 0: Callie Bourgoin tallied two goals, Lydia Porter, Sophia Brown and Liza Flower also scored and the Falcons (3-0) defeated the Wildcats (1-3-1) in York.

GORHAM 6, DEERING 0: Kara Nygren scored in each half and set up a goal by Taylor Chadburn as Gorham (4-1) defeated visiting Deering (2-2).
Elle Hanley, Eleanor Morgan and Lylly Cook also scored. Sawyer VonderHaar needed just two saves for the shutout.
Deering’s Jael Mbadu stopped five shots.
KENNEBUNK 3, WINDHAM 1: Alina Auriemma collected two goals and Kendall Therrien also scored as the Rams (5-0) handled the Eagles (2-2) in Kennebunk
Teagan Hanson made nine saves for Kennebunk.
Marley Jarvais scored for Windham.
BOYS SOCCER
WESTBROOK 3, KENNEBUNK 2: Ithiel Mulumba had two goals, Sam Luanika made eight saves and the Blue Blazes (3-1) defeated the Rams (2-3) in Westbrook.
Ryan Garber also scored for the Blue Blazes.
Grahame Bean had two goals and Griffin Whitney stopped eight shots for Kennebunk.
