William Lugo hit a sacrifice fly to left field with one out in the 11th inning Wednesday night to give the Binghamton Rumble Ponies a 6-5 victory against the visiting Portland Sea Dogs in a final-week Eastern League game.
The Sea Dogs took leads in both the 10th and 11th innings but failed to hold them. After Karson Simas singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th, Binghamton benefited from a walk and a wild pitch to put runners at second and third with nobody out. Nick Lorusso tied it with a sacrifice fly before Lugo won it.
Tyler Miller had two hits for Portland, including a fourth-inning homer.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
