Rotarians luncheon
Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the dining room at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, 125 Stroudwater St., Westbrook.
Those attending are asked to enter door No. 2. Following lunch, the group will go to Canal School to celebrate with students and staff the summer map project Rotarians completed.
There will not be a regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23, but a pop-up social is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Westbrook On Tap at Westbrook Commons.
Woman’s Club to meet
Westbrook Woman’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Spruce Room at Westbrook Community Center. This will be a club business meeting and all members are encouraged to attend.
“We will also be conducting a service project for Through These Doors in the lead-up to Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, ” Christine Johnson, club spokeswoman, said in an announcement. For more information, Johnson can be reached at 797-3747.
Ride to Cumberland Fair
Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St., will provide round-trip transportation for adults to Cumberland County Fair between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, for Senior Day.
The transportation cost is $3 and those attending will need to pay admission, $6, and also for food and their own spending.

Redwood Society activities
The Redwood Society is hosting several activities at the Community Center, all from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 11, game show, “Name That Tune;”
- Monday, Sept. 15, Team Trivia;
- Tuesday, Sept. 16, Cribbage Club;
- Wednesday, Sept. 17, Bingo Blitz.
50 years ago
The American Journal reported on Sept. 17, 1975, that Deborah Gagnon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gagnon, of 163 Saco St., was a junior majoring in elementary education at UMaine-Farmington and her brother, Timothy, a freshman majoring in business administration at UMaine-Orono.
