
Brush drop-off
Gorham Public Works will accept brush next month from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on two Saturdays, Oct. 4 and Oct. 18, at the town garage at 80 Huston Road.
The drop-off is restricted to residents only, no commercial.
Stumps will not be accepted, but leaves and grass clippings are accepted in the designated area throughout the season.
Residents are asked to not leave bags behind. For more information, call Public Works at 222-4950.
Give blood
Cressey Road Christian Church, 81 Cressey Road, is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18.

50 years ago
The American Journal reported on Aug. 10, 1975, that the Town Council’s Ordinance Committee was to consider a ban on shooting a firearm within 500 feet of houses in built-up areas. The Town Council charged the committee with defining densely populated areas as opposed to sparsely developed areas.
