The National Weather Service posted frost advisories for Monday night that stretched from Millinocket to the Canadian border, and from Rumford to Vermont.

The advisories are in place until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Northern Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties and all of Aroostook County were under frost advisories beginning at 11 p.m. Monday. The weather service office in Caribou predicts temperatures could drop as low as 35 degrees.

The weather service office in Gray issued a warning for northern Oxford County, just west of Rumford, where temperatures could fall to 34 degrees.

Everything north of Berlin, New Hampshire, was placed under the advisory, as well as a small piece of Vermont.

The frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation, the advisory states, and kill those plants if they are left uncovered.
