Lloyd Stephen Kish
BRUNSWICK – Lloyd Stephen Kish, 70, of Brunswick, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2025, after a 10-year cancer journey with his family by his side.
Lloyd was born Dec. 1, 1954 in Hammonton, N.J. to John and Anna Kish. He moved to Maine in 1970 and attended Oxford Hills High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Julie. After moving to Buxton, Lloyd graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1973. After graduation, he attended auctioneering school in St. Louis, Mo.
Lloyd had a 40-plus year career in sales providing dedicated customer service for Harris Baking Company, J.J. Nissen, IBC, and Frito Lay. He valued his friendships with his customers and fellow vendors, many of whom became lifelong friends. He was respected for his exemplary work ethic and commitment.
He took great pride in maintaining his home, enjoyed gardening with his wife, taking in the peaceful view from his Adirondack chair in the backyard, searching for sea glass with his daughter, watching sports with family, especially basketball, and listening to all the great hits of his time. Family time was his most treasured time.
Lloyd will be remembered for his kindness and the way he made people feel… seen, heard, and appreciated every day. He was simply one-of-a-kind.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Julie, of 48 years; daughter, Jenny, his special girl, loyal companion, Teddy; brother, Jack, sister-in-law, June (David), brother-in-law, Jeff (Mayela); nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and numerous cherished friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Kish; and in-laws, Sen. R. Donald and Florence Twitchell.
His family is grateful for the compassionate care Lloyd received from the staff at New England Cancer Specialists – Dr. Devon Evans, Carley, and his girls at the Topsham location, Dr. Rutstein, Dr. Kim at Dana Farber, Coulombe Family Tower seventh floor RNs and CNAs, Bodwell Rehabilitation, and CHANS.
Even through his illness, Lloyd lived each day to the fullest with positivity, determination, humor, and a thumbs-up attitude.
Julie and Jen wish to thank June for her endless love and support and his longtime friend, Bruce, who cheered him up often.
