Friday morning the weather was so iffy — rain and drizzle — that my friends and I hesitated to go on our usual walk. We decided to risk it, and went to Two Lights State Park. We walked under the trees during a light drizzle and, when the rain stopped, ventured out to a path by the shore, high over the sea. The view was gorgeous.
Up ahead of us, where the path widens to a small grassy area, we saw a wedding party — the bride lovely in a long white gown, the groom in a dark suit, the man officiating in a cream suit and several people (including a baby) observing the service. The couple and their guests were facing the sea, the clouds and the sky. The sun was shining on them. It was like a miracle.
I can’t help thinking what a glorious memory this will be for them and for us, how grateful I am for the park and how lucky we are to live in this beautiful place.
