A state lawmaker from Hancock County has been charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly engaging in election interference at a polling location in April.
Rep. Nina Milliken, D-Blue Hill, has been issued a summons on the charge and is due to appear in court next month, according to Lt. Dakota Dupuis with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Dupuis referred all other questions to the District’s Attorney Office, which did not respond to a media inquiry Friday.
Milliken, who has been a representative since 2022, also did not respond to a message from a reporter.
The news of Milliken’s charge was first reported by the Maine Wire, a conservative news site affiliated with the Maine Policy Institute.
Milliken is accused of violating state law that prohibits individuals from electioneering, or trying to influence someone’s vote, within 250 feet of a polling place on Election Day.
No other information was available late Friday.
