The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of an unidentified woman on Friday in Woolwich.

The body was found in the area of north Woolwich, Sheriff Joel Merry said in an email Thursday. It was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for identification, Merry said.

“The death is not considered suspicious and there are no concerns to public safety,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing, Merry said. No further information was available Thursday.
