Kathleen Anne O’Brien
WINDHAM – On Aug. 20, 2025, our family said goodbye to Kathleen “Kathy” A. O’Brien, 68, of Windham. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply she loved, and how many lives she touched along the way.
Kathy was the daughter of James and Patricia O’Brien, who welcomed her into the world and now welcome her home again. She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Kevin O’Brien, Sarah Jones and husband Richard, and Tracy Tuttle, as well as nephews and extended family, who will carry her memory with them always.
Family was everything to Kathy and she went above and beyond to make sure they knew how much she cared.
Above all else, Kathy was a mother. She poured her heart into raising her daughters, Meghan Hopper and Jessica Stoddard, teaching them the values of kindness, strength, and family.
Her role as “Grammy” was one she treasured most—her grandchildren Madelynn, Kaiden, Jacob, Austin, Sophia, Stella, Aubrey, Karaline, Lucy, and Jackson were the lights of her life. Each of them carries a piece of her in their smiles and laughter.
Kathy also had a gift for caring for others beyond her family. She dedicated much of her life to her work as a nurse, where she brought comfort, compassion, and healing to countless patients. Nursing wasn’t just her career—it was an extension of her heart.
When Kathy wasn’t caring for others, she was living life to the fullest. She loved to dance, laugh, and spend time with her friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She had a joyful spirit that drew people in and made every gathering brighter.
Kathy was the kind of person who made you feel at home the moment you walked through the door. She had a way of turning ordinary days into special memories. Her love was steady, her friendship true, and her presence a gift to everyone lucky enough to know her.
