Rose Ann (Ciriello) Curneil

CUMBERLAND – Rose Ann (Ciriello) Curneil, 89, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2025 in Portland.

The daughter of Gimmattisto “John” and Giovana “Jenny” (Vasile) Ciriello, she was born in Portland on Oct. 21, 1935. She was raised on Munjoy Hill and attended Portland Schools graduating from Portland High.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Curneil of 63 years; her son, David Curneil; and her two sisters, Pauline Wike, and Dolores DiMillo.

She is survived by her children Mark Curneil and his wife Martha, Michelle Curneil and her husband William DiTomaso, Jeff Curneil and his wife Rosanne, and her daughter-in-law, Janet Pazik. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alison, Casey, Aleisha, Robbie, Stacie, Eric, Katrina, Samuel, and Chelsey; and her nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Annette Francis.

Rose Ann’s family would like to thank the staff at the Barron Center for their professionalism, love and support.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, Sept. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal St., Portland. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
