Lois Lemelin

SCARBOROUGH – Lois Lemelin, 81, passed away on August 25, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on Jan. 15, 1944, in Portland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Hattie Andrews.

Lois grew up on Riverside Street in Portland and graduated from Deering High School in 1962. Later, she raised her family on Osborne Avenue in South Portland. She was a devoted and hardworking single mother. Her proudest accomplishment in life was her two boys, Scott and Rick. She was endlessly proud of the men that they became and their accomplishments.

Known for her talkative, bubbly, and open spirit, Lois was a natural people person. She worked in local grocery stores as a product representative, always making friends wherever she went. For many years, she worked as a Human Resources Representative for AT&T and an Administrative Assistant at Unum.

Lois and her fiancé, John, shared a special bond over the years. Together, they enjoyed riding Harley-Davidsons, traveling often to Florida, and soaking in the sunshine and palm trees. In 2022, she purchased a home in Florida, where Lois and John delighted in the warm weather. Lois loved any kind of convertible to soak up as much warm air and sun as she could, it didn’t matter the kind, as long as the top went down.

Lois is survived by her fiancé, John Pineau; her siblings, Terri Andrews and husband Mark Kramer of South Carolina, and Steve Andrews of Casco; and her beloved son, Rick Lemelin and wife Angela, her daughter-in-law, Eileen Raftice; grandchildren, Cole and wife Lauren, Paige, Matthew and Carly; and great granddaughter, Kennedy. She was predeceased by her brother, Donny Andrews, and by her son, Scott, who passed away in 2020.

Lois will be laid to rest alongside her son Scott at Highland Cemetery, 881 Highland Ave, South Portland, on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 2 p.m. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her love of family, and her vibrant personality that left a mark on everyone she met.
