The Hannaford store in North Windham has issued a recall for packages of ground beef sold on Wednesday, as they may contain foreign material.

“Out of an abundance of caution,” the store is recalling Hannaford brand 80% ground beef sold at the store after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 20) with a sell-by date of Aug. 24.

The recall only applies to the North Windham store and no injuries or illnesses have been reported, Hannaford said in its announcement of the recall on Thursday.

Products or their packaging may be returned to the store for a full refund.
