AUBURN – The Center for Workforce and Professional Development at Central Maine Community College (CMCC), in partnership with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works (BIW) and community service providers, is now recruiting candidates for its upcoming Manufacturing Technician Training program.

This free training for Maine residents provides 120 hours of in-person instruction at the Central Maine Community College campus, running Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eligible participants must be Maine residents, at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma, GED, or HiSet, and be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the United States. Registration and an interview for this course are required, additional hiring restrictions may apply.
Program highlights include:
• $500 weekly attendance incentive (for eligible students)
• Job interview with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works for qualified applicants who successfully complete the program requirements
This training is just one of the many free courses offered by Workforce and Professional Development, which also includes Introduction to Phlebotomy, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Security+, CNA, CETP Gas Training, Fiber Optic Technician, Refrigerant EPA 608, Heat Pump Installer Training, Real Estate Agent, Home Inspector, and Google Employment Certificate Programs.
These programs are funded by the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce. The course materials and exam fees are also covered. Participants must be Maine residents, at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma, GED, or HiSet, and be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the United States.
