Sharon Dawn Gallant Parker

WINDHAM – Sharon Dawn Gallant Parker “Mum”, 85, of Windham, Maine, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at home.

Sharon was born on Feb. 4, 1940, in Havre, Mont., to John Rinesmith and Winnefred Forbes.

She devoted her life to her kids, family, community and church for all of her years and was known for her kindness in including and helping those in need, and her love and laughter shared with all.

Sharon enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, giving gifts, spending time with her family, feeding the birds, gardening, and practicing her mediumship.

Over the years, she wore many hats — as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend to many. She served as a den mother for her sons’ Cub Scout and Boy Scout groups, worked as an RN at Maine Medical Center for over 30 years, and later as a hospice nurse for more than 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Rinesmith and “Winnie” Forbes; her husbands, Joseph Gallant and “Rusty” Paul Parker Sr.; and her grandson, Chance Gallant.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce, Dwayne and Kevin Gallant, her daughter, Elaine Sanders; her grandchildren, Joeseph Gallant, Brittany McCarthy, Tatiana Sanders, Curtis Turner and Thomas Sanders; her siblings, Jeri Gardiner, Patti Peterson, Donna larsen, Tenny Johnson, Sheila Grinnell, and Mary Dickson woods; and her great-grandchildren, Dawson, Halle, Charlotte and Micheal.

A private celebration of life will be held on Sept. 13 at the lake.

Special thanks to caregivers and hospice for their compassion and care.

“She lived with grace, loved deeply, and will be missed beyond measure.”

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
