Justin David Reese

NOTTINGHAM, N.H. – With great sadness we announce the passing of Justin David Reese, beloved son, brother, husband and father, on June 8, 2025, at his home in Nottingham, N.H.

Justin was born Feb. 27, 1984, to Michelle (Dumont) Reese and David R. Reese in Manchester, N.H. He spent the greater part of his childhood living in Portland, surrounded by his parents and younger siblings, a pack of great friends and much loved extended family.

Justin was educated in the Portland public schools, graduating from Deering High School in 2002. He participated in track, enjoyed playing baseball and was an accomplished violist performing with the Youth Symphony and school orchestra throughout high school. He attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass.

Justin worked for many years in the paint and hardware business, managing stores in Massachusetts, Malone, N.Y. and southern New Hampshire. In 2023, he realized a dream of starting his own business painting and restoring buildings and vintage pieces as well as creating stunning furniture and artistic works.

Justin found his soulmate and true love with Crystal Christian. Together they built a life he cherished. He adored their two children, Lucas and Chloe (Muffin).

Justin was so many things … a formidable character, a fierce protector and family man. He was one to chart his own path and had a level of intensity and passion in everything he did. Justin was outgoing, creative, entrepreneurial, funny, handy, intuitive, smart and independent. He loved summers at York Beach, debating on any subject (some would say arguing), music and collecting albums and playing pool, scrabble and all dice.

Justin will be remembered and missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his

wife, Crystal and their children, his parents, brother, Kenneth and his sister, Christina and her husband, Daniel, his beloved Memere, Yolande Dumont, and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.

“But sometimes a song stops short and it is no less beautiful for its brevity!”
