Sharon E. Cook
BRUNSWICK – Sharon E. Cook, 74, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Van Buren, Sharon began her early years as a beautician in Bangor, where her infectious smile and warm spirit made everyone feel seen and cared for. She adored music and clogging, and her zest for life shined through every beat and step.
Alongside her devoted husband, Stephen Cook (predeceased), Sharon co-founded Maine Sea Salt, a company rooted in the heart of Maine that became known worldwide for its purity and craftsmanship. But more than her success in business, Sharon’s greatest joy was found in the lives she nurtured and the family she built.
She is survived by her children: Chris Gardner and wife Lisa of Hampstead, Maryland; Greg Gardner of Brunswick; Amanda Brillant of Harpswell; and Tom Cook of Richmond. Her cherished grandchildren include Ethan Covelli of Las Vegas, Nevada; Alyssa Brendon of Silverdale, Washington; Ava Johnson of Harpswell; Elizabeth Gardner of Hampstead, Maryland; and Sara Gardner of Hampstead, Maryland.
She also leaves behind her loving sister, Debra Kelly, and husband Mark of Pennsylvania, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews whose lives she touched deeply. Sharon shared a special bond with her dogs – Spot, Sam, Louise, Katie, and Lola – who brought her comfort, joy, and companionship throughout the years.
Her life was one of grace, humor, strength, and compassion. Her memory will live on in the laughter she inspired, the legacy she created, and the family who will continue to honor her every day.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Memories and condolences can be shared at http://www.brackettfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s honor to Maine Paws For Veterans, 675 Old Portland Rd, Brunswick, ME 04011 (www.mainepawsforveterans.org).
