Joseph Newton

BRUNSWICK – Joseph Newton, 81, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Brunswick, Joe was the son of the late Edward and Florence (Farmer) Newton. He graduated from Lubec High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a cook. After his military service, Joe found his calling in construction engineering, dedicating his entire career to the field with integrity and dedication.

In 1980, Joe married the love of his life, Pamela Mower. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on love, laughter, and deep devotion. They shared over 40 wonderful years together until her passing in 2022. Joe often said his greatest joy in life was making her happy.

Joe was a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures – fishing, relaxing at camp, and playing cards with friends and family. He was well known and respected in the Brunswick community and will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.

He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer and her husband Steven of Durham, Renee Normand of Brunswick, and Judith Harrell and her husband Michael of Tennessee; his sister Donna Radjavitch and her husband Joseph of Brunswick; his brother Paul Newton and sister Joan Merrill, both of Brunswick; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11 a.m., in Growstown Cemetery, Church Road, Brunswick. A reception will follow at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. Memories and condolences can be shared at http://www.brackettfh.com.
