Dorothy “Tweet” Thompson Williams
PORTLAND – Dorothy Thompson Williams passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at her home in Portland.
Born in Howland, on April 11, 1942, to Ruth Lancaster Vigue and Frederic M. Thompson, Dorothy was a proud resident of her hometown. She was predeceased by her five siblings: Alice, Richard, Raymond, Dallas, and Polly. Dorothy graduated from high school in 1960 and joined the U.S. Air Force, where she was stationed in Tacoma, Washington. After her years of service, she married Gayland Pelkey in 1965.
The couple settled in Falmouth, where Dorothy became an active member of the community, coaching many girls’ softball teams. A passionate sports enthusiast, she was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Golden State Warriors, and a die-hard supporter of Duke Basketball. In her later years, she relocated to Lincoln, where she owned and operated Johnson’s Florist.
Dorothy cherished her time spent playing Bingo with friends at Ashton Gardens and enjoyed countless games of Yahtzee with her longtime friend, the late Betty Doyle.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, she found immense joy in spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters: Tamra Konon and her husband John, and Gaylene Pelkey and her partner Andrew Honore, along with many nieces and nephews.
Additionally, she was especially proud of her grandchildren, Johnny and Jocelynn Konon.
Per her request, services will be private. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
