Nominations available July 28
Town Clerk Laurie Nordfors said this week that nomination papers for town elected positions in November will become available on Monday, July 28, at her Municipal Center office at 75 South St.
Town Council seats available are those of Phil Gagnon, Rob Lavoie, and Seven Siegel.
School Committee seats up for grabs are those of Jaci Reynolds and Jennifer Whitehead.
All elected positions are three-year terms. The municipal election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Rimkunas at Baxter author event
Gorham native and author Miriam Rimkunas will read and sign their new novel, “Survivor Concentrate: An Apocalyptic Fable,” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Baxter Memorial Library, 71 South St.

Hawaiian barbecue
The Luke Project, Summit Community Church’s disability ministry, is hosting a Hawaiian luau barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the church at 26 Cressey Road in Gorham

Gorham gazebo concert
JC & The Aces will be in concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the gazebo on the lawn at the Municipal Center, 75 South St.
Gorham Recreation Department sponsors the free concert series that runs through Aug. 5. Take a picnic and a chair or blanket and enjoy the show.
Free painting class
North Gorham Public Library, 2 Standish Neck Road, will host a painting class for children age 8 and older from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug. 4.
A Facebook posting said artist Hope Armstrong Place, of Standish, will read a story to children and then help them paint an image from the book.
The artist will provide painting supplies, but not aprons. Parents are welcome, but if they wish to paint there will be a $10 fee.
