Kattie Marie (Collins) Hartwell

GORHAM – Kattie Marie (Collins) Hartwell, 44, of Gorham, took her final peaceful breath on July 8, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ka, Ka, Ka, Kattie. Beautiful Kattie. Daughter, Sister, Granddaughter, Wife, Momma, Niece, Antie Trinket, Cousin, Friend, WAP, Missionary, Engineer.

How do we begin to describe the lovely person you were? A daughter of God. A lover of people. A musician and singer. A gardener. A pain in the butt, with a brilliant mind and sharp wit.

We loved you more than words can say, and we will miss you forever.

Kattie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret McLaughlin of Maine, her grandfather, Warren Winningham of Rhode Island; and her uncle, John Winningham, also of Maine.

She is survived by her loving husband, Benjamin Hartwell; and their cherished daughter, Iona Claire Hartwell; her parents, Richard and Patricia Collins; her brother and sister-in-law, Rik and Sarah Collins; and her beloved nieces and nephews Kurtis, Hailey, Ephraim, and Lillah Collins; step-grandmother, Sharon Winningham of R.I.; father and mother-in-law, Karl and Jo Hartwell, of Gorham; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Sonia Hartwell, of Massachusetts; aunt and uncle, Belle and Michael Barnes, of New Jersey.

She shared a special bond with her aunt, Karen Secord of Raymond; cousins Catherine Hollen of Gorham, and Elizabeth Garcia, Westbrook; lifelong friends Kristin Saunders of Otisfield, and Laurel Libby of Auburn.

Kattie also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends who loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, at LifeChurch, 8 Elkins Rd., Gorham, ME 04038.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Iris Global, https://www.irisglobal.org/give the missionary organization Kattie served with in Africa.
