Donald Francis Giancola

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Donald Francis Giancola passed away peacefully, on March 23, 2025, after a short illness, near his winter home in Palm Desert, Calif. His family was with him at the time.

Donald was born in Marlboro, Mass., the oldest son of Patrick J. and Leslie M. (Perry) Giancola, January, 1945. He had one brother, Alan. He attended Marlboro schools and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.

In 1967 he married Judith Chipman of Braintree, Mass. and together they had two sons, Mark Edward and Geoffrey David. Donald had a career in the retail industry until 1983 when the family moved to Acton, and he became a Business Broker. He was associated with CBI in Portland, until he retired.

Over the years Donald and Judith travelled extensively. He loved visiting new places and meeting new people. After retirement they spent many happy winters at their second home in California, making many close friends. There, he especially enjoyed his volunteer work, primarily with the Read to Me program in local schools, and at the Eisenhower Hospital Cancer Center.

Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith; their two sons, Mark and Geoffrey, their wives and children; brother, Alan Giancola of Kennebunk, and his family; plus many cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
