Linda Dianne (McDevitt) Pomerleau
LAWRENCE, Mass. / SARASOTA, Fla. – Linda Dianne (McDevitt) Pomerleau, 82 of Lawrence, Mass. and Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Pomerleau, to whom she was married for 56 years.
Linda grew up in Portland where she attended Saint Dominic’s and Cathedral High School. After high school, she did various jobs until getting hired as an operator for the phone company. There she met the love of her life, Richard. They married two years later, and she relocated to Lawrence Mass., where they settled into a great life, welcoming two amazing children, Brian and Michelle.
Through the years, they loved to spend time at their house in Lawrence, Mass. in the pool or at the Cape with family and friends. Linda eventually worked for Merrimack College, running trips all over Europe through the language lab for 25 years until her retirement in 2000. She and Richard decided to spend winters in Sarasota, Fla. and eventually all year until Richard’s passing in 2021.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Linda was predeceased by her brother, Dwight; and her mother, Trudy.
She is survived by her son, Brian, and his wife, Jennifer, with her daughter, Giuliana, of Leominster, Mass.; and her daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Craig, of Andover, Mass.; as well as the lights of her life, her three grandsons, Matthew Pomerleau, and his wife, Suhad, of Lawrence, Mass., Alexander Nelson of Worcester, Mass. and Andrew Nelson of Andover, Mass.
She also, leaves behind her sister, Donna, of Venice, Fla., her brother-in-law, Russell, and his wife, Patricia; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Linda’s life by gathering for her calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 18 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, Mass. Her funeral service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private, allowing the family a quiet moment to reflect on her legacy.
