William Joseph Halligan
CUMBERLAND – William Joseph Halligan, of Cumberland Center, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025.
Bill was born in Edgewood, R.I. to Ernest and Margaret Halligan on Dec. 18, 1934. He went to high school at LaSalle Academy and graduated to attend Dean College. Bill received a full scholarship to play football at Villanova University. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Bouley. After 35 years of working for Texaco, they retired to Naples Fla. in 2008. Bill and Eleanor eventually returned to Maine to be closer to family.
Bill is survived by four children, Leisa, William Jr. “BJ”, Sharon and Colene; as well as several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place on July 26 at 11 a.m. at Holy Martyrs in Falmouth. The following reception will be held at Bruno’s in Portland from 12:30 tp 2:30 p.m.
