Lauraine Dyer Foley
SCARBOROUGH – Lauraine Dyer Foley, 91, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Scarborough. She was born on May 7, 1934, in Portland and spent most of her life in the greater Portland area, including more than 40 years at her cherished home in Higgins Beach.
Lauraine’s steady strength and unwavering love made her the heart of her family. She shared her life with humor, generosity, and deep care for those around her. She found joy in her gardens, the birds and small animals that visited them, and the many pets, especially her dogs, that were her constant companions over the years. She also loved traveling with her husband, cherishing their adventures together.
Her greatest pride came from caring for her family. She devoted herself first to her mother and sisters, later to her husband and daughter, and played a special role in helping to raise her two grandchildren. She also held a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews.
Lauraine is survived by her loving husband, Daniel J. Foley; her daughter, Deborah (Rankin) Henry; her sister, Penny Dyer; her grandchildren, Danielle Rankin and Sean Rankin; and her two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her oldest sister, Patricia Levesque.
She was greatly loved by her entire family and all who knew her.
The family will gather privately to celebrate Lauraine’s life.
Her bold spirit, loving heart, and remarkable strength will live on in her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to PAWS New England, an organization close to her heart.
