Todd Hayden Terrio
GRAY – Todd Hayden Terrio, 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Gray on May 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Dec. 14, 1962, in Augusta, Todd was the youngest child of Charles Robert “Bob” Terrio and Meredith “Merrie” Child Terrio. He was raised in Readfield, and attended Readfield Elementary and graduated from Maranacook High School.
Todd embraced life with great gusto. He was curious about everyone and eager to engage in conversation, friendship, and a good time. He was a true Mainer and an avid sportsman enjoying boating, snowmobiling, skiing, four-wheeling, long trips on his motorcycles and collecting vintage cars and trucks that he discovered throughout the state. He enjoyed many years at his camps on Messalonskee Lake in Oakland and Lake Androscoggin in Wayne and at his longtime home in Gray.
With his ever-present exuberance and love of negotiation, Todd was a natural in his career in truck and heavy equipment sales. He loved and was very proud of his long career at O’Connor Motors under the tutelage of Dick and Mike O’Connor that began as a high school intern. Later he struck out on his own with THT Equipment.
Todd is survived by his son, Adam Grant (Ellen), and two granddaughters, Eily Grant and Emma Grant, of Lewiston, Maine. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Terrio Abbott, and niece, Alexandra Burnette, both of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and his brother, David Terrio (Jarrett Brown), and nephew, Robert Castro-Terrio, both of New York City and Wayne.
A brief graveside service will be held will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at 1 p.m., at the Readfield Corner Cemetery on Church Road followed by a Celebration of Todd’s Life from 2-4 p.m., at the Weathervane Restaurant in Readfield. Please join Todd’s family and friends in raising a glass in memory of Todd.
