
Annie Ethel Penfield
WINDHAM – Annie E. (Durant) Penfield, of Chute Road, died March 13, 2025, in Hidden Valley Lake, Calif. She was 86.
Born in Tonawanda, N.Y. to Reginald Irving Durant and Edith Maude (Yates) Durant. Annie’s three siblings who proceeded her were, Edith “Babe” Jeffords, Reginald I. Durant Jr., and Dorothy Ward.
Annie was a nurse at Swampscotta Nursing Home for years. She raised her family on Chute Road in Windham, until the early ’80s. She eventually made her travels to New Mexico where she always dreamed of living. Annie’s travels didn’t stop there. She lived in sunny California for over 40 years. Annie was lucky enough to see Hawaii twice, another of her travel dream states.
Annie leaves behind five children, Vivian L. Dunlop, Paul S. Blanchard, Cindy M. Jeffords, Eulla A. Brown and Reginald I. Durant. Annie’s five grandchildren are Billy Steinhagen, Samantha Holley, Derek Brown, Dylan Brown and Nicholas Durant. Annie has four great-grandchildren as well.
Annie’s wish was to be cremated and ashes sprinkled in the ocean along with her late husband, Bill Penfield.
