A missing Cape Elizabeth woman has been found safe, Detective Ben Davis confirmed Sunday.
“She has been found and she is safe,” Davis told the Press Herald.
The woman, 35, was reported missing Saturday afternoon. At the time, she was last seen around midnight on Thursday in an undisclosed location.
Early Sunday morning, the woman’s mother confirmed that she had been in contact with her daughter, who said she was coming home.
At 10 a.m. on Sunday, the woman still had not returned home, but had been in further contact with her family. She called from someone else’s phone, the mother said.
“We haven’t seen her in person yet,” she said. “We’re hoping and praying she shows up.”
The family believes the woman to be in the Portland area.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
