Joanne Elizabeth Joyce

BATH – Loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Joanne Elizabeth Joyce was born in Roslindale, Mass., a suburb of Boston, on June 10, 1953. She lived in New York City, California, and Illinois before returning to Maine in the 1980s, where she resided for the rest of her life.

Joanne spent many wonderful summers at the family home in Boothbay, a place she treasured. She worked as a waitress, sales clerk, hostess, bus driver, and pipe coverer at BIW. Joanne had a great sense of humor, and she always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

She was predeceased by her mother, Ruth Joyce; twin sister, Jeanne Joyce; brother, Michael Joyce; and grandson, Tucker Gonzalez. She was adored and survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gonzalez and husband. Cal, and granddaughter, Sophie Gonzalez. Joanne’s family includes her brother, Jerry Joyce, and his wife, Diane Joyce; nephews James and Joseph; and grand-nieces and nephews, Joseph, James, Marlee, and Jessa; as well as cousins, Danny and Manny from New York.

She rediscovered her faith later in life, and was truly blessed to be able to share it with many people, always quick to hold the hand of a friend or loved one and pray with them. She will be missed by many.

Joanne’s light and presence will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
