Richard Ansel Mathurin Sr.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Richard Ansel Mathurin, Sr., 88, of San Diego, Calif., passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Kearny Mesa Convalescent and Nursing Home.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, on Aug. 23, 1936, Dick graduated from Brunswick High School. He was a resident of Falmouth for many years.
He spent over 40 years as a respected mergers and acquisitions advisor who was a co-founder of Mathurin And Kaplan and later founded Richard A. Mathurin & Associates. He was known for his dedication to clients and his business acumen.
Dick loved rooting for his favorite Boston sports teams, tending his garden and his passion for standardbred racehorses. He fulfilled this passion for through his racing stable, RAM Racing Stables, that he owned with his son, Rich.
Dick is survived by his children, Richard Mathurin, Jr. and Margaret Demetros; and his two grandchildren, Madison and Emma.
Dick will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his presence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
