Paul E. Caron
Paul E. Caron, 74, passed away on June 11, 2025, with his sister, Renee, by his side in Scarborough.
Paul was born on Jan. 6, 1951, in Marietta, Ohio, son of the late Florian Caron and Barbara (Sherry) Beaudoin.
Paul graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1968. A talented drummer, he played in his high school band, “Mynd Garden,” which was a regular feature at school dances. His passion for music continued throughout his life—he lived in Montreal for several years playing drums in a band and later worked and performed at South Seas Plantation in Florida. A gifted jazz musician, Paul was known for his complex, skillful drumming and deep love of the genre.
Later in life, Paul helped his mother to care for and manage the summer rental apartments she owned in Old Orchard Beach. He enjoyed the local scene there, soaking up the sun at the beach and embracing the easy rhythm of coastal life.
“I will not willingly offend,
Nor be easily offended;
What’s amiss I’ll strive to mend,
And endure what can’t be mended.”
– Isaac Watts
Paul is survived by his sister, Renee and her husband James Whelan; nephew, Ryan Whelan, niece, Grace Whelan; aunt, Sonya (Caron) Turcotte; and many other extended family members.
