Julie Ann Richard
FALMOUTH – Julie Ann Richard, 64, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025.
Julie was born in 1960 in Epping, England to Roy and Jill Peppiatt. Julie was the eldest of four with twin sister, Amanda, third sister, Nicola, and baby sister, Deborah. During childhood, the family emigrated to Canada and later, Maine, where Julie attended Baxter School for the Deaf. She was introduced to her husband, David, via a mutual friend and they later married in 1988. Together, they continued to make Falmouth their home and raised two children: Matthew and Emma.
Julie was a dedicated, hard-working individual who valued keeping herself busy and strong. She refused to believe anything was impossible and never hesitated to throw herself wholeheartedly into her goals. She dedicated decades of her life to working for Baxter School and Wilbur’s of Maine with pride.
Julie had a deep love of the outdoors and adventure. She frequently traveled across Maine and beyond in search of mountains to climb, beautiful views, and exploration. Julie jumped at any chance to hike, camp, or discover new sights, soaking in each moment to the fullest. The beauty of the world was never lost on her and she helped all who met her see through her eyes in ways words could never describe. She had a deep love for the ocean too, often being found searching for treasures along sandy beaches and letting ocean breezes and waves heal.
Julie was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and more to many. Family was of extraordinary importance in her life. She was everyone’s greatest supporter in both times of need and triumph. Her kindness knew no boundaries as she extended her love to those beyond blood, welcoming any into her home and heart who were in need. She was fiercely humorous and loved to tease and crack jokes. Her ability to love, have fun, and be positive even when facing life’s toughest was infectious and will be a legacy carried on through the lengths of time.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Roy Peppiatt; sister, Nicola McKenney; and nephew, Joshua Danforth.
She is survived by her husband, David Richard; son, Matthew Richard (Heather), daughter, Emma Richard and honorary daughter, Jenna Dyer (Jacob Hall); mother Jill Peppiatt; sisters Deborah Peppiatt (Chris Orr), Amanda Greco (Martin), and honorary sister, Julia Morris; grandchildren Madeline, Amelia, and Juliet Richard and Reece Dyer Hall; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Foreside Community Church on June 29, at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
