The Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk invites spectators to experience America’s pastime the way it was meant to be played. On Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m., the museum will host a Vintage Baseball Game at Kennebunk High School. The game will feature, the Dirigo Vintage Base Ball Club vs. the Mudville Base Ball Club.

According to a news release, “the game will be played by 1860s rules. The family-friendly game offers an unforgettable blend of history and sport. Watch players take the field in authentic uniforms, using period-accurate equipment and customs — no gloves, no modern jargon, just the crack of the bat and the cheer of the crowd.”
Tickets are $10 at the gate, and children 16 and younger will be admitted free. Concessions will be available during the game. Spectators are invited to, “come cheer, snack, and step into a slice of 19th-century summer fun.”
Proceeds support educational programming at the Brick Store Museum. The event is rain or shine. For more information, visit brickstoremuseum.org or call 207-985-4802.
