Michael James Breen

BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Michael James Breen was born Sept. 8, 1951, in North Adams, Mass. to James and Reinee (Ouellette) Breen. Michael was the eldest of their five children, all raised on Massachusetts Avenue in North Adams.

Michael attended schools in North Adams and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School with the class of 1969. Michael attended Stockbridge School, University of Massachusetts and North Adams State College.

Michael leaves his wife of 52 years Valerie (King); sons Christopher (Merrie) and Patrick (Mary). He also leaves his siblings Peter (MaryEllen), Holly (Greg), James (Mary), and preceded in death his brother, John (Tami); several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Michael and his wife were proprietors of Breen’s Flowers and Gifts in Bennington, Vt. until they moved to Maine.

Michael passed away of natural causes at their family home in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on June 9, 2025.
