Cynthia Faye (Davis) Holbrook
BRUNSWICK – Cynthia Faye (Davis) Holbrook, 79, formerly of Woolwich, Maine, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 8, 2025, at Dionne Commons Assisted Living Facility in Brunswick.
Cynthia was born in Damariscotta on Dec.r 22, 1945, to parents Grafton Woodward Davis and Doris Irene (Delano) Davis. She was the youngest of three children. She attended Wiscasset schools graduating from Wiscasset High School, Class of 1964, and somehow earned the nickname “Speedy” according to her yearbook.
Following graduation, she met and married Randall Bradford Holbrook of Woolwich on Oct. 1, 1966. Following her marriage, she contented herself raising her family and dedicating herself to being involved in the lives of her three children, including school activities, being UBER mom for her kids’ athletic events and the PTA.
Her independent interests included playing on a bowling league, taking walks, gardening, feeding her birds, being a part of Red Sox Nation, decorating her home for every holiday and going to the family cottage on Pemaquid Lake. She additionally was a member of the Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church and could be found singing in the choir.
She returned to the work force as her children required less of her time. Her occupations included working at the Paper Tiger Party Supply Store, The Sandwich Shop, and eventually spending 18 years as a cashier at Shaw’s Supermarkets in Bath.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Lynette Holbrook of Bath, sons, Mark Randall (Gail) Holbrook of Woolwich, John William Holbrook and significant other, Angela, of Woolwich; beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Andrew Doughty, and significant other Shayna of Enfield, NH, Katelyn Rose Doughty of Standish, Matthew Taylor Holbrook of Saco, Mallory Nicole Holbrook of Woolwich, Zachary Wayne Holbrook of Woolwich, and Emma Jane (Holbrook) Rossignol and husband Andrew of Dresden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Randall Bradford Holbrook, her parents, her brother, Stephen Davis and wife Marsha, sister, Harlene (Davis) Erskine and husband Richard, and in-laws Lester and Norma (Presby) Holbrook of Woolwich.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of David E. Desmond and Son Funeral Home where visiting will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at noon at the funeral home, with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Woolwich to follow, for all those that would like to attend.
