A new fast-casual restaurant, Salsa Mexican Grill, has taken over 367 Main St., the Yarmouth space most recently occupied by Dandy’s Handy Store and Thoroughfare restaurant.
Salsa Mexican Grill, which has been in the works for about three years, opened in early May, aptly the weekend of Cinco de Mayo. The menu includes house-made tortillas and slow-cooked meats. This past weekend, the restaurant launched a salsa bar, featuring 12 hot sauces and eight other salsas. Salsa Mexican Grill has plans to bottle and sell their salsas.
Operating partner Sam Miller is a Yarmouth local, who said he understands the location’s significance to the town. A store and/or eatery has occupied the space for many decades.
“For us to take it over was a pretty ambitious move,” Miller said. “It really gives us the restaurant we wanted to have that’s serving really good Mexican food, but also allows us to have cocktails, have margaritas, have people sitting out on the patio.”
Salsa Mexican Grill is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
