The new Dyer Library cards have arrived. Featuring the winning entries in our design contest, the new cards will be necessary once the library transitions to a new cataloguing system.

Stop by the circulation desk beginning June 16 to pick out your new card. Patrons that register for a new or updated card by the end of June will be entered into a raffle for an exciting prize.

The library’s year-round book sale is moving across the parking lot to its new home at the Saco Museum, and was anticipated to be available by the end of May. Come browse a wonderful selection of fiction, nonfiction, children’s books and puzzles in excellent condition.

Admission is not charged to visit the new Used Book Sale in the former gift shop, but the Saco Museum does keep different hours from Dyer Library. Museum hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday, noon to 8 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Looking for audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, video games, and mass market paperbacks? You’ll find them in our annual book sale, running from Aug. 16-23.

The library’s entire large print collection has found a new home in the former periodical room behind the circulation desk, featuring more accessible shelves, seating, and lots of natural light.

An opening reception for the new Saco Museum exhibit, “Behind Closed Doors: The Secrets of Museum Work,” will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5. The exhibit will be on display through Aug. 23.

The 2025 Saco Sidewalk Arts Festival will be held primarily at CK Burns School – and Dyer Library and Saco Museum will be part of the action. Our parking lot will host the vendors and be closed for the festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21.

The library and museum will be open for regular Saturday hours, so stop by the Youth Services Room to help assemble a tile art painting of Gordon, the Summer Reading Mascot, or visit our new exhibit at the museum.

Please note the morning and afternoon book clubs will pause for the summer months and resume in September.
