Historians to meet

Gorham Historical Society will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at its headquarters in the Mosher Barn at 28 Cherry Hill Road.

The meeting will be the last before the summer break. For more information, call Suzanne Phillips, society president, at 892-9847.

Gorham Taste Walk set

The annual Taste Walk, sponsored by Young Life Sebago, takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, in Gorham Village. Proceeds will send students to a summer camp.

Those participating will walk through the village and taste sample dishes at eateries and vote for their favorite. Maps can be purchased for $10 ahead of the event and picked up at Robie Gym, 42 South St. Tickets will also be available the day of the event at the gym.

The winning venue gets the Golden Spoon award.

Young Life Sebago is a local ministry to teenagers in Gorham and Windham.

50 years ago

The American Journal reported on May 25, 1975, that Paul Hamblen spoke about world hunger at First Parish Congregational Church. A collection was taken to aid the starving.
