The upcoming Memorial Day events are in place to move forward in Bath and Freeport.
On Monday, May 26, Parades and remembrance services will be held to honor the memories of soldiers who didn’t return from American wars.

Veterans will gather for Memorial Day in Bath at the American Legion, Smith-Tobey Post 21, and depart for Oak Grove at the legion plot at around 8 a.m. to gather around it at 9 a.m.
According to Bath Legion Commander Joe Young, the American Legion will meet later at Waterfront Park for auxiliary at 10 a.m. and then assemble in the Tobey Smith parking lot to prepare for the parade at 10:30 a.m. The Memorial Day parade will start at 11:30 a.m. and end in Library Park for a wreath-laying ceremony after a Memorial Day program.
In Freeport, the Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m., with the route beginning on Holbrook and ending in Memorial Park. A ceremony will take place in Memorial Park around 10:30 a.m.
Veteran service members from various military outfits and community organizations will turn out for Memorial Day to participate in the parades and remembrance services, with the Memorial Day activities happening rain or shine.
