Silver bullets going away

The silver bullets located at Public Works Department, 80 Huston Road, for handling residential recyclables will be discontinued on July 7, according to the town’s website.

Residents are urged to use curbside collection for their recyclable items. Options also include Riverside Recycling, 910 Riverside St., in Portland, and it can be reached at 797-6200; or Casella Transfer Station, 594 County Road, Westbrook, or call 805-3511.

Sixth grade parents night

Parents of Grade 5 students at Narragansett Elementary School are invited to attend Rising Sixth Grade Parent Night at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at Gorham Middle School on Weeks Road.

It’s an informational meeting designed to help prepare students for their transition to the middle school, the Narragansett school announced online.

The American Journal reported on May 21, 1975, that the Richard Bardens of Flaggy Meadow Road entertained a gathering to welcome Paul Larrabee, formerly of Main Street, and his wife to their neighborhood.
