Westbrook-Gorham Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Westbrook Together Days set for Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, at Riverbank Park on Main Street.

The event includes entertainment with bands, demonstrations, food trucks, a variety of activities and a parade.

Goldberg, Montoya attend special training

Westbrook Police Department Capt. Steve Goldberg and Westbrook Fire Department firefighter Kevin Montoya recently completed a three-day active shooter management training.

“This training brought together police, fire, dispatch, and EMA professionals from across Southern and Central Maine,” the department posted online. “Other members of our departments have had similar training previously as well. Our departments continue to work together to prepare for and respond to any emergency situation we may encounter.”

Donate blood

The American Red Cross will hold an opportunity to donate blood between noon and 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St., Westbrook.

50 years ago

The American Journal reported on May 21, 1975, that Jean Martin, daughter of Raymond Martin of Cottage Place, had been accepted at the University of Maine Portland-Gorham. She was in the National Honor Society, Pep Club and took part in swimming, softball and tennis.
