BlixxHorses will host its 10th Unbridled fundraiser on Sunday, April 27. The event is a benefit for BlixxHorses, a non-riding organization, and sponsored by Kennebunk Savings.

Unbridled will begin with a blessing for the animals followed by a silent auction and light brunch. Guests are invited to visit the horses and take photographs. The event will conclude with a birthday celebration featuring traditional carrot cake.
BlixxHorses is located at 5 Portage Way in West Kennebunk.
According to a news release, BlixxHorses was founded in 2007 and was the first organization in the country to provide non-riding programming exclusively. Today, many advocates of horses throughout the U.S. and abroad have joined a movement that provides a different perspective on horses and encourages lifelong commitments. The programs and philosophy benefit people through therapy and benefits horses by educating people about their needs and care, encouraging a lifelong commitment.
BlixxHorses was named after the original two rescued horses. Think Blue, a 16-year-old thoroughbred racehorse, was found at a local lesson/show facility. Alexxis (Lexxie), a six-month-old Arabian mare, was in danger of a fate common to performance horses and a life riddled with injuries from use.
When Blue died in 2008, a Hanoverian warmblood, Another Fritz, joined BlixxHorses and became Lexxie’s current companion. The 14-year-old was used in dressage, jumping and as a lesson horse.
